Right from my childhood, I had a passion for writing and during my teenage years, I used to write small notes of poems and stories that address social issues. Owing to its uniqueness, my works received great acceptance amongst readers and this motivated me to write more and more. Over the years, writing has turned out to be a habit for me and I manage to dedicate some time for writing even between my busy schedules. This has helped me become one among the top modern malayalam literature writers.

Social concerns have been the main motive behind most of my creations and hence many of them could find a place in college magazines and external periodical publications, more often.

In early 2018, I unveiled my creation titled ‘Ashanthiyude Poomaram’ അശാന്തിയുടെ പൂമരം [meaning, flower-tree of conflicts or unrest], via Green Books Publications. Sharing my articles on periodicals and social media helped me gain expertise in literary compositions. I did not have enough time to express my thoughts in the form of a  book. There were many topics and thoughts in my mind that could be better expressed in a book and the thought of it used to disturb me.

In my free time, I do research about ongoing issues in the world including global warming, men’s struggle for existence, countries deploying weapons of mass destruction, terrorism and democracies in developed countries turning into a dictatorship. A deep understanding of all the global concerns created distress in my mind and I wanted to let the world know more of it, so I jotted it down in my book ’ അശാന്തിയുടെ പൂമരം ‘.

The book ‘Global Warming Concerns’ has mentioned how our little state of Kerala would be severely affected by climate change. In this context, I have mentioned in my book the possibility of climate change fueling severe floods and drought in Kerala, killing a number of people. But despite the copious coverage, the issue barely got the attention it deserved.

A couple of months after the release of the book, the state of Kerala witnessed one of the biggest natural calamities, in which hundreds of people lost their lives and thousands were rendered homeless. This incident hurt me to the core that it almost destroyed me.

Watching my loved ones struggle with the aftermath of the deadly flood, I’m continuously thinking of all the ways we could have possibly protected our nature. Isn’t it our sole responsibility to protect our nature; our only home?

Let me summarize the contents of my book…

The recent flood is a mere reminder. Be mindful of the fact that climate change stories can get worse. We cannot close our eyes to the fate of the earth anymore. We have to act together at the earliest to save the world. Let us unite and defend … for future generations.

What is worrying me as a writer and nature lover, is two of the gravest threats to all lives on earth; global warming and climate change.
